Sakya Football Tourney Kicks Off On February 4


The 8th edition of the annual Sakya Filipino-Chinese Football Festival will officially happen on February 4 at the Tionko football field in Davao City.

The tournament which is in accordance to the Chinese New Year will use a 7-A-Side format with 12 players in each team. The categories that are up for grabs in the prestigious footall tournament are  mix 2009 and under, mix 2007-under, boys 2005-under, boys 2001-under, girls 2003-under, boys 2003-under, girls 1999-under, boys 1999-under and men's open and women's open.

Davao Catholic Schools Scores Big In CEAP Tourney In Zambo

Catholic schools in Davao City has shown once again that their sports program is one of the best in this side of the Philippines.

This developed after some of the private schools in Davao City has won big in the recent Catholic Education Association of the Philippines (Ceap) Sports Festival in Zamboanga City. The Holy Cross of Davao College has won the gold in college basketball while the Assumption College of Davao also won the gold in high school basketball.

The University of Immaculate Concepcion also won the gold in high school volleyball. UIC also won the gold in Latin Dance and American standard in dance sport. The San Pedro College also won a title in vocal duet in the event participated in by some of the top catholic schools in Mindanao.
