314 boys get free "tuli" operation in Barangay Sasa

 

Sasa Barangay captain Jerry Licarte gave some words of inspiration to one Tuli beneficiary to ensure he was ready to undergo the operation.

Summer vacation from school means relaxation and circumcision, or "tuli" time for young boys in the Philippines.

To relieve parents from paying for the Tuli operation of their children, Barangay Sasa captain Jerry Licarte has recently initiated a free tuli operation for the young boys in his beloved barangay.

The initiative offering free medicine to the beneficiaries to ensure proper healing from the operation benefitted 314 young boys in Barangay Sasa.

The free "tuli" operation has been a regular project of Licarte since he became the chief executive of Barangay Sasa in 2018.

The latest free "tuli" project of the Licarte brought a lot of joy and cheers to both parents and children who availed of the medical operation.

The parents are happy because they were able to save some money for the "Tuli" of their children.

Instead of Tuli, the parents would use the money to do other things that matter.

The children, for their part, are happy that they are finally tuli or circumcised since it is a right of passage for young boys.

The boys who availed of the Tuli operation can grow even faster and have a healthier reproductive system.

The solar light project offers a brighter and clearer future for Barangay Sasa residents

 

One of the primary roles of any barangay officials is to ensure the safe and security of their beloved constituents.

To keep his constituents safe and secure, Barangay Sasa barangay captain Jerry Licarte has launched a solar light project which offers solar lamp posts to the various puroks in his barangay.

Licarte, popularly known as an action man for initiating projects that helped his beloved constituents allocated five million for this worthwhile initiative.

Being in public service for the past 23 years, starting as barangay councilor in 2010, Licarte knows the importance of having a lamp post, especially at night, since it offers protection and security to residents.

Licarte said since he started the project, the residents in the various purok in Barangay Sasa have felt secure and happy with these lamp posts powered by solar energy.

With the joy and security offered by his solar light project, Licarte is motivated even further to create more projects that will help his beloved constituents for many years.

Under Licarte's leadership, the future of Barangay Sasa is very bright since this leader is not only forward-thinking but has a genuine heart for those in need.

Concreating of wooden footbridges makes life easier for residents of Barangay Sasa

 

The mark of a good leader is when they make life easier and safer for their beloved constituents.

Barangay Sasa barangay captain Jerry Licarte just did that to seven coastal puroks in his beloved barangay.

Since he assumed office as a first-term barangay head in 2018, one of his projects of Licarte is concreting the wooden footbridges to seven coastal puroks in Barangay Sasa.

The footbridges, which cost P400,000, greatly help the residents in these areas since they give them security when they go in and out of their place.

"The concrete footbridges replace the wooden worn our footbridges in the area which is dangerous for the residents," Licarte said.

Aside from making life easier and safer for residents, concreating footbridges also promotes business and cleanliness in these puroks.

Licarte, the father of two boys and one girl, is happy that for the past 23 years since he began serving residents of Barangay Sasa, he has made an impact in making the life of his constituents better, safer, and healthier through his worthwhile projects in the barangay.

Barangay Sasa's Zumba project offers physical fitness and good health to residents

 

One of the roles of a barangay captain is to ensure their constituents are always in good physical condition.

To ensure physical fitness and good health to his beloved constituent, Barangay Sasa captain Jerry Licarte has launched A free Zumba activity in his barangay on all Saturdays of July.

Zumba is an interval workout. 

The classes move between high- and low-intensity dance moves designed to increase your heart rate and boost cardio endurance.

Starting July 8 to 29, the Zumba activity will be offered to Barangays Sasa residents for free at the Fatima gym.

In cooperation with the Sasa Barangay Council Gender and Development, the Zumba activity aims to inspire the residents to exercise regularly to stay healthy and avoid sickness.

Aside from the Zumba sessions, Licarte also offers some kilos to rice to the residents who will join the activity.

So far, the activity has been a resounding success, and the participants are asking for more.

Since assuming the position of barangay captain in 2018, Licarte has done a tremendous job serving the residents of Barangay Sasa with his various projects and programs that benefit his beloved constituents.

 

Philippine Chess League opens on Sunday

 

   

The 7th season Philippine Chess League dubbed as Gov. Henry "Henz" Oaminal online chess tournament gets underway on Sunday, July 23, 2023.

According to NCFP board of director AGM/NM Engr. Rey Urbiztondo, the country's premiere amateur chess tournament will feature aspiring up-and coming-woodpushers.

Among the teams will compete are White Knights Chess Club, Surigao Diamond Knights, Malolos City Chess Club, PPKGCC-MCL Knights, Davao Durian Stallions, PFCC Wild Knights, PPKGCC Chess Kings, The Great Dragon of Chess, Asenso Misamis Occidental Federated Chess Association, TFCC Chess Movers Club and Bicol Chess Player's Advocates.

"Misamisnon, Magpuyong, Maliwanon, Malambuon Ug Malipayon," said Gov. Oaminal who is schedule to host this year's National Inter Province Chess Team Championship in Misamis Occidental.

It shall be recalled that Gov. Oaminal together with Ozamis City Mayor Atty. Henry F. Oaminal Jr., Congressman Sancho Fernando F. Oaminal and the newly-formed Asenso Misamis Occidental Federated Chess Association hosted the Asenso Misamis Occidental National Open Chess Tournament held at the Aya Hotel & Residences in Clarin, Misamis Occidental last July 8 and 9.

Hall of Famer and Asia's First Grandmaster Eugene Torre made a rare simultaneous chess exhibition. Gov. Oaminal held GM Torre into a fighting draw.

Licarte said the barangay also has 15 trained responders if ever disaster strikes in his barangay, such as fires, flooding, or any emergency.

He said he prioritized purchasing more vehicles for his barangay so that they serve his constituents well in their needs.

The ambulance or patient medical transport system is considered a revolutionary and game changer since it is accessible to all Barangay Sasa residents.

Sick patients living in Sasa who need immediate transport to the hospital need to call or inform the barangay, and they will avail of the services of the barangay's ambulance that will transport them to a hospital free of charge.

The ambulance, equipped with all the necessary emergency medical equipment, will transport the patient back to their house after hospitalization free of charge as well.

"This patient medical transport service is available 24/7 to all Barangay Sasa residents," Licarte said.

Licarte said he decided to implement this worthwhile barangay service since he wants to help all his constituents who do not have the money to bring their sick loved ones to the hospital.

Bangkarera spices up Eid'l Adha celebration of Barangay Sasa

 

Eid'l Adha is one of the most important religious calendars for the Muslim community all over the world, and Barangay Sasa, Davao City, is no exception.

To show how much he respect and love the Muslim community in his beloved barangay, Barangay Sasa captain Jerry Liscarte has organized a bangkarera, a race of motorized fishing boats for the Muslim communities in Barangay Sasa.

The one-of-a-kind race offers cash prizes to the winners.

"Kining bangkarera akong gipatigayon agig celebration nila sa Eid'l Adha", Licarte said.

Aside from the bangkarera event, Licarte also took time from his busy schedule to visit the Muslim communities in his barangay and share some meals with them.

Licarte considers the Muslim communities an integral part of his administration, which is why he is doing everything to provide good public service to them.

Youth Education A Centerpiece Program In Barangay Sasa Under Jerry Licarte's Leadership

In recent weeks, Barangay Sasa captain Jerry Licarte can be seen in various graduation events in his beloved barangays in all levels kinder to high school.

The precense of Licarte in these events is an indication this selfless public servant has put primary importance to the education of the youth in his barangay.
