Ancajas Wins 2nd Boxing Title Defense In Australia

Panabo City boxing champion Jerwin Ancajas has successfully defended his International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior bantamweight in the main undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Jeff Horn bout at the Suncorp Stadium on a
sunny Sunday afternoon.
Ancajas scored a technical knockout win over Teiru Kinoshita to successfully defend his tite for the second time.
Ancajas slowly broke down the taller
Korean challenger of Japanese descent before delivering the coup the grace with a vicious right hook to the body that sent
Kinoshita down on his knees. While he did beat the count, Kinoshita still appeared wobbly upon getting up, prompting the
referee to stop the fight that serves as the main undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Jeff Horn welterweight title bout.
The end came at the 1:53 mark of the seventh round to the delight of the Filipino crowd.
The Filipino southpaw improved to 27-1-1 (win-loss-draw) with 18 KOs.
Ancasjas won the title from McJoe Arroyo of Puerto Rico
last year. Better things are now expected to come the way of the Panabo City, Davao del Norte native after making an
impression in his first fight beamed live on free TV in the rich U.S.market through ESPN. Ancajas already had Kinoshita in
trouble in the second round when a strong left hook left the challenger with a cut just above the right eye.
Kinoshita though managed to put up a fight despite blood dripping from the cut. He actually had two good rounds before the
sudden end to the bout came midway through the seventh. His record now stands at 25-2-1 with 8 KOs.
