DAVAO  CITY---Despite the global coronavirus pandemic, the National Basketball Association has still decided to proceed with the three-point and dunk contests in the 2021 NBA All-Star Game at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta on March 7.

The NBA said the NBA three-point contest will be done before the NBA All-Star game while the dunk contest will be done during the halftime of the All-Star Game.

Some sectors lobbied that the three-point and dunk contest will be scrapped this year due to the pandemic.

But the NBA decided to proceed with the events since they are two of the premier side events of the NBA-All-Star game.

The NBA All-Star games feature the best players from both East and Western conferences who will play for the bragging rights as the best conference in the NBA.

Some of the NBA superstars expected to play in this year's All-Star game are Los Angeles Lakers superstar forward Lebron James, Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Stephen Curry and Brooklyn Nets veteran forward Kevin Durant. (Romeo Braceros Jr.).
