Hard work finally paid off for fast-rising PBA player Reden Celda who happens to be a resident of Mati City, Dava Oriental.
Celda is starting to get attention in the PBA after he carried his team Mahindra to a morale-boosting 122-121 overtime win over Phoenix Fuel Masters on Sunday. With just seconds left in the game, Celda drove to the basket and scored on a floater that lifted his team to a much-needed victory. The young guard who played for National University in college had a solid scoring with 26 points in their game.
Getting the chance to play in the PBA is not easy for the Mati City native Celda. Celda has to play first in the PBA developmental league before he got the chance to be drafted in the PBA. The spitfire recalled that he almost quit playing basketball after he got little playing time while playing for NU.
But the support of his family and his strong desire to play in the PBA made him return to basketball and now he reaping the fruits of his labor.
