Baser Amer Makes It To Gilas Pilipinas Training Pool

Davao City native professional basketball player Baser Amer has been selected as one of the members of the Gilas Pilipinas basketball training pool that will compete in various international basketball tournaments this year.

Amer, the starting point-guard of the Meralco Bolts in the Philippine Basketball Association will compete for a slot in the Gilas Pilipinas basketball team that will participate in the Southeast Asian Games, FIBA Asia cup and World Cup qualifiers this year.

A resident of Barangay Maa, Davao City, Amer is very happy to be given the chance to play for the country. Amer said his selection to the pool is a great way for him to train harder after the Bolts failed to make it to the semifinals of the PBA Commissioners Cup.

The sophomore guard is playing superb thus year as he leads his team in scoring among locals in the PBA Commissioners Cup. Due to his brilliance some basketball experts even consider him as the next Jimmy Alapag of the PBA.
