DAVAO CITY---Davaoeno arbiters were the big winners in the 4th Mindanao Arbiters Chess960 Online Tournament last June 15.
Irwin Ato won the top prize in the tournament featuring some of the top aribiters in Mindanao.
Aton scored 8.5 points to win the chessfest and the P150 champion purse.
Taking the second place in the tournament is another Davaoeno, Aton's brother Ariel Nino who won P100.
The third place went to Crysus Donasco who won P200.
Another Davaoeno Alfred Moulic won fourth place.
The fifth place was also secured by Davaoeno James Infiesto, an international arbiter and regional director of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP).
The chessfest was earlier organized by Glenn Aleria.
