He had no shoes on his HS basketball tryout but ended up 13 years in the PBA! Amazing


One of the most inspiring success story in the Philippine Basketball Association is that of Tago, Surigao del Sur native guard-forward Sunday Salvacion.
Salvacion,a clutch 6'3 shooter did not only play in the PBA but lasted for 13 years in the oldest professional basketball league in Asia.
Before making it big in Metro Manila, Salvacion has an inspiring story in his road to success in college and professional basketball.
When Salvacion, tried out for the high school basketball team of Rizal Memorial Colleges Bulldogs he had no snickers to use.
In order to tryout he was forced to use the big shoes of his elder brother by just putting some papers inside it to make it fit him.
When he was accepted as varsity scholar of the Bulldogs the rest is history.
After playing well in Davao City leagues, he was recruited to play for the College of St. Benilde in the National Collegiate Association of the Philippines where he became an MVP.
In 2003 he was drafted as the 11 pick in the second round by Barangay Ginebra where he played for seven years.
In the PBA, Salvacion got the reputation as a great shooter, clutch shooter and great defender.
