Teens from Cabantian help FEU win its 12th UAAP junior football championship

DAVAO CITY—On February 29 at the UP Diliman Football Field in Quezon City, the Far Eastern University Tamaraws junior football team defeated the formidable University of Santo Tomas Glowing Tigers 3-0 in the UAAP junior football championship.

Three promising teenage football players from Barangay Cabantian here were a major factor in this victory.

The Tamaraws continued to rule the junior football division in the UAAP thanks in large part to Kian Terrence Niu, Gian Lucha, and Joerby Anito of the Rovers Football Club, which is based here.

The team's first of three championship-winning goals was scored by Niu.

For his part, Lucha was deemed the most valuable player after playing excellently throughout the entire competition.

In the team's victory, Anito contributed a strong performance as well.

Their accomplishment has made their Rovers FC family, as well as the parents of their players, very happy and proud. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
