After many tries the University of Mindanao bannered Davao City baseball team finally hit the grandslam or three straight championship in the National Private School Athletic Association (Prisaa) Games 2018 men's baseball contest held at the Maribojoc Field, Mribojoc, Bohol.
The Davao City baseball team coached by Vincent Ryan Sarabia demolished Cagayan Valley Region 12-1 to win the crown and achieve the rare three-peat after three tries in the past.
Sarabia said after winning back to back championship in PRISAA national finals they always go for a grandslam but they always fail until this year.
In the finals, Jester Dave Mansalayao was named most valuable player (MVP) and was hailed as the best pitcher and most home run awardee.
Lowie Jhon Chan, last year's MVP, was named best hitter.
The other members of the champion team were the following:Edgardo Baniog, Rodnel Dalor, Vince Agmata, Alnyl Jay Capapas, Darel Dave Olaivar, Joshua Miguillan, Johnwil Cadotdot, Maurice Franz Mañalac, Eldie Butulan and Anthonie Libagan.
