Davao City----To excel in academics and sports is a dream shared by most athletes in the UAAP but sadly not all athletes get to achieve this dream.
However, three athletes from Mindanao recently got an award for shining bright academically and in their chosen sports.
The UAAP officiants awarded Ivo Nikolai Enot, a high school swimming scholar from Ateneo de Manila, Sara Dalagan, a high school chess scholar from National University, and Ruelle Canino, a high school chess scholar from Far Eastern University with the Athlete-Scholar Award.
Enot is a native of Davao City while Dalagan and Canino hail from Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental.
The three have shown that Mindanao-based scholars will not only excel in sports but in academics as well. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
