DAVAO CITY—Two promising teen footballers from Barangay Cabantian here played a huge part in the strong performance of the National Capital Region in the ongoing Philippine Football Championship U-19 national championship in Bacolod, Negros Occidental.
Kian Terrence Niu and Joerby Anito represent NCR as members of the Far Eastern University Tamaraws junior football team.
Niu and Anito, who are also members of Rovers Football Club are playing well and contributing goals for their team.
Last February 29, the two helped the Tamaraws win the championship against the tough University of Santo Tomas Glowing Tigers 3-0 in the UAAP junior football championship at the UP Diliman Football Field in Quezon City.
Niu, scored the first of the three winning goals for the team in their championship win.
Lucha for his part played brilliantly in the entire tournament and was declared as the most valuable player.
Anito for his part also played tough for the team in their win.
