First Halal Lechon Baka Festival in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat a Resounding Success Despite Rain

 


Despite the rain on June 18, the first Halal Lechon Baka Festival in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, turned out to be a tremendous success, drawing hundreds of residents from both Muslim and Christian communities. The event showcased the unity and diversity of Sultan Kudarat, with participants coming together to celebrate and feast on 50 halal lechon baka.


Organized by the Sultan Kudarat provincial government, along with the city and town mayors and local businessmen, the festival highlighted the region's commitment to inclusivity. Governor Datu Pax Ali Mangudadatu personally attended the event, emphasizing in his speech the province's dedication to unity and cultural harmony.


“The Halal Lechon Festival is a testament to our province’s spirit of unity and diversity,” Governor Mangudadatu said. 



In addition to the culinary delights, the provincial government arranged a spectacular fireworks display and a raffle with enticing prizes, including sacks of rice, refrigerators, and washing machines, among others. These activities added to the festive atmosphere, making the event memorable for all attendees.



The success of the festival despite the challenging weather conditions demonstrates the resilience and strong community spirit of Sultan Kudarat's residents. It also marks a significant step in promoting cultural understanding and cooperation within the province.
