Lako ang panglantaw ni Davis sa mga mag-uuma kay kabalo kini unsa sila ka importante sa ekonomiya sa Pilipinas.

Pinaagi sa tabang sa mga higalang pulitiko ni Davis sama ni Bato dela Rosa, senador nga gikan sa Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur mahatagan niya ug ayuda dili lamang ang agrikultura kung dili ang ubang sektor sa iyahang barangay usab.

Plano ni Davis nga magmugna ug mga economic activities susama sa mga kooperatiba ug paglungsad ug weekend night market ug market day sa Baranay Nanyo aron makahatag kini ug panginabuhian sa mga residente.

Maglantaw usab si Davis nga ang maong aktibidad maghatag usab ug kalambuan ug kalingawan sa tibuok barangay.

Usa sab sa mga plano ni Davis ang paghatag ug binulan nga medikal check-up ug tambal sa mga senior citizens labi na katong naay mga balatian.

Gusto usab ni Davis nga magbuhat ug modernong health center para sa mga residente sa Barangay Nanyo.

Buiot usab mokuha ni Davis ug emergency response ambulance nga adunay kompletong life support system aron magamit sa mga reesidente nga nanginahanglan ug atensiyong medical.

Maghatag usab ug dugang training ni Davis sa saktong paggamit sa handheld radio ug ubang kagamitan sa Barangay Emergency Response Program.

Panaboan NM, PH Para chess team targets crown in 4th World Championship for People with Disabilities

DAVAO CITY---A veteran National Master from Panabo City, Davao del Norte is part of the Philippine paralympic chess team that will compete in the 4th World Championship for People with Disabilities to be held from November 5-14.

NM Henry Lopez is part of the team that will compete in the international chess tournament alongside  FM Severino from Silay City, Negros Occidental, Masters Jasper Rom from Danao City, Cebu, and Darry Bernardo from Angeles City, Pampanga.

According to the international chess federation, the 9-round Swiss tournament with 45 minutes + 30 seconds increment per move, starting from move 1,  is an individual competition with an additional team ranking. 

Its winners will earn the titles of “World Chess Champion among Disabled 2021” in the individual ranking and “World Chess Team Champion among Disabled 2021” in the team competition.

Close to 200 chessers from over 40 countries are participating in the 10-day event which saw Rom, Bernardo and Lopez seeded 13th, 26th, and 27th, respectively.

The Para chess team is confident of their chances in the competition since they are the leader in the ongoing third conference of the Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP) in the Southern division. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)

Panabo, Tagum, New Corella footballers get grand finals slot in Davnor Online Juggling Competition

DAVAO CITY-Promising footballers from Panabo City, Tagum City, and New Corella town were the big winners in week 3 of the grand finals of the Davao del Norte Football Online Juggling Training and Competition on November 1.

Eaidric Sean Luckas Adlawan of Panabo City won the 9-12 Years Old (Boys) category in the tournament which features some of the fast-rising footballers in Davao del Norte.

Joseph Zarco of Tagum City won the 13-14 years old (Boys) category.

Meanwhile,  Marry Ann Vane Pandian of New Corella town won the 13-16 years old (Girls) category.

With their wins, the three already booked a slot each in the grand finals.

Juggling is a football trick wherein you juggle the ball with your foot and will not allow it to touch the ground for the longest time.

A total of 31 footballers joined the online tournament earlier.

Panaboan NM, 12 targets crown in Asia Youth Chess Championship

 

National Master Christian Gian Karlo Arca.

DAVAO CITY – The youngest National Master in Region 11 is set to play in the tough  Asia Youth Chess Championship on October 29-31, 2021.

Twelve-year-old NM Christian Gian Karlo Arca, a resident of Panabo City, Davao del Norte will play in the 12 and under division of the tournament set to be participated in by more than 200 players from different countries in ASIA, with 15min+10secs time control of the game.

With his recent international online chess wins, Arca ranked fifth place among the Asian participants.

Arca is on a roll these days as he played big and carried the Philippines under 16 team to the championship crown in the 34th International Rapid Chess Online Team Battle last October 23.

He leads Sharp Kids Diamond U16 Philippines to the title with 233 total points against some other top chess teams from around the world including Russia, Cuba, and Thailand among others.

In the 16 and under category, Arca also won the championship crown by scoring 44 points.

Last October 16, Arca also won second place in the open category of the Philippine National Chess Championship Mindanao Leg on October 16.

Arca scored six points after seven rounds placing second in the chessfest participated in by some of the top chess players in the Philippines.

Arca won a P2,000 cash prize in the tournament.

On October 9, Arca won the blitz category of the 4th Mayor Jose Relampagos Chess Tournament.

Arca scored 5.5 points after six rounds to win the tournament participated by some of the top chess players in Panabo City, Davao del Norte.

Arca won the P600 cash prize in the chessfest.

On October 1 to 3, Arca also placed sixth place in the tough  Eastern Asia Youth Online Chess Championship 2021.

Arca got a sixth-place finish out of the 145 chess players who joined the male 12 and under division.

Arca is happy with his performance in the tournament as a member of the Philippine chess team.

On September 26, Arca also won the 2nd Philippine Academy of Chess Excellence (PACE) Members & Students Chess.

He emerged as champion in the tournament participated in by some of the top young chess wizards in the Philippines.

Panaboan joins PH men's chess team in 1st FIDE 2020 Online Chess Olympiad for People With Disabilities

 

DAVAO CITY -- A 39-year-old para-athlete from Panabo City is part of the Philippine men's chess team that will compete in the 1st FIDE 2020 Online Chess Olympiad for People With Disabilities in Switzerland slated on November 21 to December 3.

Arena Grand Master (AGM) Henry Lopez is part of the Philippine team that will field two teams in the prestigious international chess tournament featuring 54 countries.

In his Facebook post dated November 3, Lopez expressed joy and honor to represent the Philippines in the international chessfest set to be participated in by chess powerhouses Russia USA and India.

The Philippine team is coached by Davaoeno James Infiesto.

Last June 18, Lopez brought honor to the Philippines after he finished in eighth place in the tough  1st Online International Physical Disabled Chess Association (IPCA) World Championship Israel 2020.

Lopez scored 6.5 points n the international online chess tournament participated in by 118 players from 23 countries.

Another Filipino Sander Severino won the tournament after scoring 8.5 points.

Before his international chess tournament stint, Lopez also got a second-place finish in the Philippine Online Pra Chess Open last May 1.

Lopez scored 27 points to finish second in the tournament featuring some of the top para-athletes who played chess in the country.

Lopez, a veteran woodpusher in both local and international chess tournaments won P200 for his feat.

The championship in the tournament went to FIDE Master Sander Severino who won P300 after scoring 38 points.

The Panaboan is feeling good as of late since he recently made it to the Philippine chess team that will compete in the 44th Chess Olympiad, the very first edition that will feature a competition for the disabled.

Lopez has made it to the team, which also includes Severino, Jasper Rom, Darry Bernardo, and Cheyzer Mendoza.

Arena Grandmaster Christian Gian Karlo Arca ruled the 11th AFPI Chess Arena Blitz Competition 2020 last October 18.

Arca scored 51 points after 20 games to win the competition participated in by some of the top young chessers in the Philippines.

Last October 10-11, Arca finished fourth in the tough  National Youth Online Chess Championship boys 11 and under Grand Finals 2020.

Arca scored eight points in the chessfest participated in by some of the top young chessers in the Philippines.

The young Panaboan made Mindanao proud earlier after he was declared as the youngest AGM in the Philippines.

Arena Grandmaster (AGM) is the highest online title. It is achieved by a series of 150 bullet games, 100 blitz games, or 50 rapid games with a performance rating of over 2000.

Arca got the AGM title after his successful wins online.

Arca is among the select few 20 and under players in the Philippines who got an AGM title.

He is also the second chess player from Panabo City who got the AGM title after his mentor Henry Lopez.

Arca a student of Panabo Central Elementary School is on a roll these days as far as online chess wins are concerned.

Veteran Davaoeno chesser snatches 4th place in Dr. Marlonsky Birthday Tournament Open Division

 

DAVAO CITY---A veteran chesser based here has a decent finish in the tough Dr. Marlonsky Birthday Tournament Online Open Division participated in by three grandmasters last October 16.

National Master Jonathan Tan finished in the fourth place in the tournament participated in by some of the top chessers in the Philippines including grandmasters Joey Antonio, Mark Paragua, and Darwin Laylo.

Tan, a veteran of many local, national, and international chess tournaments won P300 as a prize.

Paragua won the tournament and the top prize of P2,000.

Panaboan Jayson Salubre took fifth place and 200 in the tournament.

Tan also made headlines last July 15 after landing in fifth place in the Asian Seniors Online Chess Championship.

Tan scored 5 points to land in fifth place in the tournament participated in by some of the top chessers in Asia.

Tan beat some of the top chessers in Asia in the tournament.

The tournament was won by International Master Ricardo Ricky de Guzman who scored 6 points.

The Philippines dominated the tournament as they occupy the top-five finishes in the chessfest.

Among the top chessers who joined the competition are  GMs Niaz Murshed of Bangladesh,

Saidali Iuldachev, Tahir Vahidov, and Alexei Barsov of Uzbekistan and IM Jamsed Isaev of Tajikistan.

The online chess tournament featured two categories in 50-and-above and 65-and-above and begins with a seven-round Zonal qualifier with the best performers advancing to the nine-round Finals, all using the Swiss System format on July 21.

The Philippines is bracketed in Zone 3.3 that includes countries like Brunei, Cambodia, Chinese Taipei, East Timor, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Laos, Macau, Mongolia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The competition offers a total of $3,000 will be up for grabs including $500, $350, and $300 to the champion of the 50-and-above and 65-and-above and the best woman player. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)

DAVAO CITY---A promising chess player from Panabo City, Davao del Norte continues to make waves in online chess during this pandemic crisis.

James Catayas ruled the Dr. Marlonsky Age Group Grand Prix 13 and under division after scoring 6.5 points after seven rounds last September 20.

Catayas won P200 after winning the tournament featuring some of the top young chessers in the Philippines.

Keith Adriane Ilar of El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental took the second spot after scoring 5.5 points.

Ilar won P150.

The third place went to Ruelle Canino of Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental who scored five points.

Canino won P100.

Last July 30, Catayas also rules the first week of the Davao del Norte Online Chess Tournament.

Catayas emerged as champion after scoring 5.5 points in the tournament.

Catayas, a veteran of many local and national chess tournaments won P150 as a prize.

The second place went to another Panaboan Rodlee Catayas who scored 4.5 points.

Catayas won P100 as prize.

The third place went to Jerome Pullos also of Panabo City.

Pullos won P50 as a prize.
