DAVAO CITY – 2016 Rio, Brazil Olympics campaigner and now professional boxer Charly Suarez will have his hands full as he seeks his ninth win in as many outings on December 4 at the Elorde Sports Center in Sucat, Paranaque.

The undefeated Suarez, a  native of San Isidro, Davao del Norte will face fellow undefeated boxer Delmar Pellio from Metro Manila.

Pellio has an impressive record of nine wins without a loss and four knockouts.

The two boxers will fight in the Super Featherweight division.

Last September 4, Suarez remains undefeated after the eighth professional boxing fight after he beat with a fourth-round knockout Lorence Rosas of Puerto Princesa, Palawan at Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.

Suarez sent Rosas to the canvas with a body shot to the liver to retain his spotless record in a boxing match dubbed Quest for Glory.

In a Facebook post, Suarez thanked God for his win against the dangerous Rosas.

Coming into the fight, Suarez is very confident of his chances against Rosas since he won his seventh professional boxing match after defeating dangerous Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental boxer Eduardo “Nightmare” Mancito on July 3 at the same venue.

Suarez eked out a 10-round unanimous decision against Mancito in their super featherweight bout.

After his defeat, Mancino’s record dropped to 18-11-2 (Win-Loss-Draw).

Before turning professional in 2020, Suarez won a gold medal for the Philippines in the 2019 SEA Games in the boxing lightweight division. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
