Christian Gian Karlo Tade Arca from Panabo City, Davao del Norte, has emerged as a standout chess talent at the 2024 Eastern Asia Youth Chess Championship in Indonesia and Malaysia. The student of Dasmariñas High School won four medals, demonstrating exceptional skill and strategy in international chess competitions.
Arca secured two gold medals, one in the individual Blitz Event for U18 Boys and another in the Team Blitz Event for U18 Boys. Additionally, he earned a silver medal in the Team Rapid Event for U18 Boys and a bronze medal in the individual Rapid Event for U18 Boys.
Arca's impressive achievements highlight the high caliber of chess talent emerging from Region 11. His performance not only underscores his personal dedication but also reinforces the growing reputation of Filipino chess players on the global stage.
