A college team from Cagayan de Oro City has won the rights to represent Mindanao in the national finals of the 2017 Vivo National Collegiate Championship (NCC) 3x3.
The Southern Philippines College (SPC) got the slot after they beat the Southern City College (SCC) of Zamboanga City, 46-44, in the finals that was held last Saturday at
the Davao City Recreation Center.
The 3x3 national finals is slated in February in Metro Manila.
SPC got 26 points from star player Jespher John Egan to bring down SCC in the finals.
SPC players Emmanuel Akut and Rudjud Daga also combined for 20 points in their win.
The road to the championship is not easy for SPC as they have to beat Davao City-based San Pedro College 51-41, in the
quarterfinals.
The CDO based team also beat in the elimination round JH Cerilles College of Pagadian City 50-34, Jose Maria College 50-39,
Agro Industrial Foundation College (AIFC) 51-20, and Philippine Women's College 50-39, respectively.
