Holy Trinity College Beat HCDC In PCCL Mindanao Finals

For the second straight year a college team from General Santos City will represent Mindanao in the national finals of the  Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) in Metro Manila in February.
The visiting Holy Trinity College (HTC) successfully defended their PCCL crown after they shock the home team Holy Cross of Davao COllege Crusaders 92-91 in a thrilling overtime championship of the  Escandor Cup 2017 PCCL Mindanao Finals on Saturday evening at the Davao Recreation Center.
HTC leaned on the 31 points of explosion of Joseph Diamante includng the the game winning lay-up to bring down the hard fighting Crusaders.
Louie Omadle also added 19 points for the visiting HTC in their nail biting win against the Crusaders.
The Crusaders were actually leading by one point 90-91 with few seconds left in the game when Diamante made quick shot and bring back the PCCL championship to the tuna capital of the Philippines.
Meanwhile, spitfire point-guard Ian Kit dela Cruz scored 17 points for the Crusaders in a losing cause.
