The two school who represented Davao City in the recent Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) 3x3 National
Finals Under-15 at the Robinson's Place Malate in Manila over the weeked has a solid performance in the tournament.
The boys team represented by Davao Jones Academy (DJA) finished second in the tournament after they fell short against Calabarzon Region, 15-16 in the finals.
The team composed of Askiah "AJ" Echavia Nico Cabalhin, Jaimes Batoon and Clarck Xavier Abracia almost beat their taller and favored opponents.
The DJA team made it to the finals earlier after they beat Region 3, 18-17, in the semifinals via overtime.
DJA coach Jimmy Colicot is very happy and proud of the performance of his team.
Colicot said their training and teamwork has worked for them in the national finals.
The girl's team represented by Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School (Dranhs) placed third in the tournament which is a huge improvement's for the team's sixth place finish in 2015.
the Ronnie Berato-coached Dranhs beat Region 10, 16-6, in their battle for third behind the heroics of Aleah Kaye Clapano, the only veteran among the group, and
neophyte players Mecca Gumapac, Mary Grace Sarmiento and Rea Ong.
