Panabo World Boxing Champ Confident Of Crown Defense In Ireland On Saturday

Panabo City, Davao del Norte world boxing champion Jerwin Ancajas is confident he can successfully defend his crown against Irish challenger Jamie Conlan in Belfast, Irelenad on Saturday evening.
Ancajas, the current IBF junior bantamweight world champion said he had trained hard and watched tapes of his opponent and is confident he can bring him down in their fight.
"I'm not into predicting the outcome of my fights. I'll just do my best to give fight fans the
entertainment they deserve", Ancajas said.
The 30-year-old challenger is the older brother of upcoming pro and former world amateur champion
Michael Conlan.  Conlan is undefeated in 19 fights, 11 of which
he won by way of knockout. The fight serves as
the main undercard in the ring comeback of former world featherweight
champion Carl Frampton. Like Conlan, Frampton is also
a native of Ireland.
Ancajas will be making the third defense of his title this
year overseas after previously winning over Mexican Jose Alfredo
Rodriguez in Macau last January and Teiru Kinoshita of
South Korea in July as the main undercard in the World Boxing
Organization (WBO) welterweight title match between
Manny Pacquiao and Jeff Horn in Brisbane, Australia. The Filipino
southpaw, who fights under the MP Promotions, won the
115 lbs title belt over McJoe Arroyo last year. He has a ring record
of 27-1-1 with 18 KOs.
