A Roman Catholic non government organization in Baguio City has given away 105 food packs, blankets, slippers and bath soaps to inmates of Island Garden City of Samal Jail in Babak last March 18.
The worthwhile gift giving was spearheaded by Warm Blanket For A Cause lead by its founder and president Glory Marie Sy.
The Archdiosesan Commission on Prion Welfare (ACPW) lead by its president Manny Escuadro, secretary Marian Raquel and member Enrique Umbana also attended the gift giving activity along with some prison officials in IGACOS.
The Warm Blanket For A Cause decided to give blankets to the prisoners because blankets serve as remembrance of the comfort, warmth, security, and the embrace of God's love in times of chilly, stormy, darkened nights of our lives.
The NGO has been providing gifts to various communities all over the Philippines.
The prisoners were very happy with the foods and goodies they receive from the NGO and it give them hope to stay good inside their prison cells.
