Pasig City chesser wins 8th leg of Tugbok online youth chess tourney

 


DAVAO CITY—A fast-rising chess player from Pasig City won the eighth leg of an online youth chess tournament that offers P18,000 total cash prizes to the winners on November 6.

Cyrus Vladimir Francisco scored 6.5 points to win the tournament participated in by some of the top young chessers in the Philippines.

Francisco won P300 and a slot in the semifinals in the tournament that features some of the top young wood pushers in the Philippines.

The chess tournament for all Filipino players born from 2004 onwards is organized by Dr. Marlonsky chess center, a chess school located in Los Amigos, Tugbok district here.

The semifinals will be held on November 13 and the finals on November 20.

The tournament is sponsored by Dr. Malon Sayson Jr. and will be facilitated by tournament director Arena Grandmaster Irwin A. Aton. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
