GG Cup Opens With A Bang

The 2017 edition of the longest-running youth cagefest in Davao City has officially started last october 14 with a bang.
The 15th season of Gaisano Grand Cup dubbed as “The Game of the Rising Stars” was started with a motorcade around 10 in the morning.
After the motorcade a team captain's photo shoot immidiately followed.
At around 1 in the afternoon the formal opening of the widely popular basketball tournament officially started at the 5th Level Entertainment Area of Gaisano Grand Citimall along Ilustre Street, Davao City.
Pastor Jerwin Machete, a youth pastor took time to inspire the young ballers to always strive hard to succeed in life.
Machete even used the legendary basketball player Michael Jordan as example of those people who fall many times but still succeed in life.
To further bring out the comptitive spirit of the participating teams, former Davao Eagles player and head coach of Pacman Gensan Arvin Bonleon shared his experiences playing basketball in Davao City and other parts of the Philippines.
Before he become a great basketball player Bonleon also played in GS Cup as a member of Rizal Memorial Colleges Bulldogs
Bonlen told the players that everything is possible as long as you put your heart into it.
As the players and coaches were already fired up with the messages from the pastor and Bonleon, the GG Cup Sports Ambassadress 2017 muse contest immidiately followed.
The crowd who attended the event were all amazed and thrilled seeing the young muses of six teams who joined the contest.
This year's GG Cup Sports Ambassadress 2017 muse winner was Nicole Anegline Sulla from Philippine Nikkie Jin Kai School.
Sulla wowed the judges and audience with her beauty and wit.
