DAVAO CITY---A promising male chess player from Panabo City, Davao del Norte continue to win honors in online chess after he placed second in the 28th APM Kiddies Blitz Online Tournament held over the weekend
Christian Gian Karlo Arca scored 8.5 points to placed runner-up to Franiel Angela Magpily of Makati City who tallied 10 points.
Arca showed his mental toughness in the tournament as he registered seven wins, three draws and one loss.
Earlier, Arca brought cheers to the Philippines after he won third place in the tough International Friendship Children's Online Chess U15 Tournament last month.
Arca scored five points after seven rounds to placed third in the chessfest won by Nejc Herega of Slovania who scored
six points and Roman Dehtiarov of Ukriane who placed second after scoring 5.5 points.(Romeo Braceros Jr.)
