Young Chess Star Wesley Jovan Magbanua Wins Daliao Toril Chessfest

Promising chesser Wesley Jovan Magbanua,  Philgymn Villajuan, Jun Batucan and Jay Bulicatin were the big winners in the 5th Daliao SK Chess Tournament held
Barangay Daliao Covered Court in Toril, Davao City over the weekend.
Magbanua, 12-year-old chess scholar of Jose Maria College (JMC) successfully defended his title in the 12 and under category after scoring 5.5 points in the six-round Swiss System Format.
With his win, Magbanua won P3,000 and a medal.
Villajuan for her part won the 16-under crown after scoring a perfect six points in the chessfest.
With her win Villajuan won P5,000 and a medal.
Batucan for his part won the seniors title after scoring five points.
Batucan won P3,000 and a medal as prizes.
Meanwhile,  Bulicatin  won the 30-below title over Jimzon Trangia (5.0), Jon Christian Lesaca (4.5), Marcelo Lagura (4.5) and Meguel Jorgio (4.5) who
grabbed the next four spots.
With his win Bulicatin won P8,000 and a medal.
