DAVAO CITY---Two seasoned players lady chess players from Davao City have made it to the 12-member Philippine Women's chess team that will compete against England in a friendly chess match on October 10 at 9 in the evening.
Former UAAP chess varsity players Arena Grand Master (AGM) Rowelyn Joy Acedo and Women Fide-Master Ella Grace Moulic is part of the Philippine Women's chess team that will face England in an online chess match.
The 12-man Women's chess team are all masters and is considered as the top women chess players in the Philippines.
Both Acedo and Moulic played for the De La Salle University Women's chess team.
Joining the two Dabawenyas in the Philippine chess team are WIM Catherine Secopio, WIM Jan Jodilyn Fronda, WIM, Marie Antoinette San Diego, WIM Kylen Joy Mordido, WFM Allany Jia Doroy, WFM Cherry Ann Mejia, WFM Samantha Glo Revita, WNM Francois Marie Magpily WNM Vic Glysen Derotas, WCM Mira Mirano.
Before playing in the UAAP, both Acedo and Moulic won many chess medals for Davao City. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
