Kobe Bryant tribute foils Lakers championship dream

Los Angeles Times

Unknown to many, the Los Angeles Lakers are not only aiming another NBA crown for themselves but to honor the late Lakers superstar guard the Black Mamba himself Kobe Bryant.

In media interviews, Lakers superstar forward Lebron "King" James is very vocal in saying that they are aiming to win the championship this year to pay tribute to Bryant, who carried to Lakers to multiple championships during his playing years with the team.

James said it is nice to end the NBA season with a championship crown tribute to the Black Mamba.

Aside from James, Lakers superstar center Anthony Davis is also dedicating their championship run to Bryant.

At the moment, the dream of both Davis and James to carry the Lakers to another championship is gaining momentum as they lead the best of seven playoff series 2-1.

As expected both James and Davis are taking the scoring load for the Lakers in their games 1 and 2 victories.

James and Davis looked superb in both offense and defense as they demolished the depleted Miami Heat team who is playing minus their star players Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic.

Despite playing with a depleted line-up the Heat remains on the hunt for the NBA championship as they beat the Lakers in game 3 115-104 behind the triple-double of Jimmy Butler who sizzled for 40 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists. (Romeo Braceros Jr.)
