PSC Commissioner Charles Raymond Maxey made the statement after Petecio sought financial help for his gym training in Digos City, Davao del Sur in preparation for the Olympic boxing qualifying next year.

Speaking before PSC “People Sports Conversations” online show, Maxey told Petecio that the national government is committed to helping her and the rest of the national sports athletes.

"I am sure may resibo yang training mo sa gym koletahin mo lang yan at ibigay sa PSC," Maxey said.

Maxey said also assured Petecio that he will discuss the Digos training of Petecio during the PSC board meeting.

Petecio for her part expressed thanks to the all-out support by the PSC to her boxing training.

The 28-year-old Davao del Sur boxing heroine decided to transfer her training in Digos City so that she can focus more away from her family and the nice cooking of her mother which badly affects her weight.

To stay in shape the Southeast Asian Games featherweight gold medalist is also doing the training twice a day, hitting the gym in the morning to follow the daily routine sent by coach Nolito Velasco through text messaging before going online in the afternoon for the national boxing team’s group training.
