A proud resident of Barangay Dumoy, Davao City, is declared the most outstanding teacher in the Philippines for 2023 in a search conducted by Metrobank among the thousands of teachers in the country.
Jev Patalinghug was declared the country's top teacher in the awarding ceremony held in Metro Manila last September 3.
Patalinghug received a medal and a P1 million as prizes.
In recognition of his outstanding achievement, the barangay officials of Dumoy, led by barangay captain Jessie Mar Culaste, conducted a special session to recognize the huge honor Patalinghug gave to the barangay in the first district of Davao City.
Culaste told the Latest Davao News that he is very proud of the achievement of Patalinghug, who happens to be the son of a former councilor of Barangay Dumoy.
Culaste is one of the few barangay captains in the Philippines with two doctorate degrees.
Culaste finished his collegiate degree as a registered doctor of dentistry.
A few years back, Culaste got his second doctorate degree as a master's in public administration.
The long-time barangay chairman of Dumoy is happy and proud of his achievements, and he is using his learning to better serve his beloved constituents.
