Despite immuno compromise status Jerry Licarte successfully served Barangay Sasa residents during "COVID" time

One mark of a true leader is his willingness to risk his life for the sake of his people.

That is what exactly Jerry Licarte, the barangay captain of Barangay Sasa, did to his beloved constituents during the height of the COVID-19 fear in 2019-2022.

Licarte revealed he had been diagnosed with diabetes, which puts him at risk of COVID if he decides to move around and serve his people as the barangay chairman of Barangay Sasa.

Despite the risk, Licarte fulfilled his job as a first-time barangay captain by ensuring all the COVID protocols were safely followed and all residents of Barangay Sasa got all the aid they could, from food to finances.

He said with the help of the barangay functionaries and purok leaders in Barangay Sasa, they were able to serve the people well during COVID time.

Known for being softhearted to those in need, Licarte consider his strong leadership in addressing the concerns of his beloved constituents as one of his significant achievements in his first term as barangay chairman.

"Katong pandemic nibarug dyud ko ug walay hadlok maski paman immuno compromise ko," Licarte said.

Licarte said he is very proud that despite being a neophyte as barangay captain, he was able to protect and provide for the needs of his people during COVID time.
