On August 30, 2023, long-time Barangay Dumoy chairman Jessie Mar Culaste formally filed his certificate of candidacy for his reelection bid in the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections scheduled on October 30.
Culaste's reelection bid is firm this year since he is supported by 11 barangay councilor candidates, most of whom are incumbent officials of Barangay Dumoy.
In a talk with Latest Davao News, Culaste said if luck permits and he gets reelected as barangay captain, he will continue his health and social services program for Barangay Dumoy residents.
In this year's election, Culaste is confident of his chances since he has done many great things for Barangay Dumoy residents since he was elected barangay captain in 2002.
For his current term, which started in 2018, Culaste said they estimate that first congressman Pulong Duterte and other government agencies have already allocated P400 million funds to fund the various infracture projects in the 28 puroks in his barangay.
Culaste, a long barangay captain of the Dumoy, said that these projects include gyms, roads, and drainage projects.
He said some of the major infrastructure projects in his barangay are the P60 million farm-to-market road sourced from the Department of Agriculture, the main road improvement of Dacoville at P85 million, and a P76 million drainage project.
The amiable barangay captain said under his administration, he made it a point to prioritize infrastructure developments since it is a huge help for his beloved constituents.
The professional dentist is very grateful to Congressman Duterte and his brother, Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte, for allocating many infrastructure projects in his barangay.
Culaste is hopeful more infrastructure projects will be poured into his barangay in the next few years.
